Chris
Newman has an active consulting practice assisting many healthcare
institutions in the U.S. and internationally. For the past
twelve years he has been a principal at Metis Advisory Group
Ltd. He has performed strategic facility planning for a wide
variety of institutions, ranging from academic medical centers
to community hospitals and ambulatory care centers. His consulting
experience has also included business planning, facilities
strategy, functional planning, feasibility studies, simulation
modeling and market assessments. Over the past ten years he
has been a special consultant to the United States Agency
for International Development and the World Bank in Eastern
Europe. He is a member of the American Association of Healthcare
Consultants and a Diplomate of the American College of Healthcare
Executives. Chris has presented at conferences and published
in a wide variety of areas related to health care strategy
and planning. Prior to joining Metis, he served as associate
vice president for corporate planning and market research
at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke's Medical Center. He retains
active faculty status as an assistant professor in Rush’s
Department of Health Systems Management. Chris holds an MBA
from the University of Chicago, MFA from the University of
Pennsylvania and BA from Harvard. Since 2000, he has served
as the managing partner of Metis.
